Not a good idea to attempt 2 things at once – last night I was cooking supper and mixing gesso ( for frames and boards ). Apple pudding went hard and the gesso looked quite edible.
Why don’t the labels on jam pots come off in the dishwasher – it’s so annoying. If I want to recycle the pots (ie make jam or put flowers in them ) I have to spend ages getting the labels off by using turps / wire wool / wrecking my hands.
Mr Potts is a big fan of Hunter Davies – they do have a lot in common. HD gets his hair cut on ‘Senior Citizens’ special days at the barber, steams unfranked stamps off envelopes, buys dodgy but cheap fruit off market stalls, has clothes that are at least 20 years old etc etc. About 25 years ago we nearly bought the house next door to HD and his wife – what larks that would have been.
Mr Potts is in the kitchen as I write ( otherwise wouldn’t have had the time ) making egg sandwiches. As I was peeling the eggs he said ‘Don’t get any shell in the sandwiches’ – why would I do that – I don’t like eggshell in a sandwich – does anyone like eggshell in their sandwiches? I don’t think so.
its the same when you finish a conversation and the other person says’take care’
no,i want to throw myself under the nearest bus in a careless manner.
Thanks Lea – you sound batty but I
