Last week the Evening Standard had an offer from Chiltern Railways for tickets to Birmingham at 25p each way – Mr P couldn’t resist such an amazing bargain, even though he’s having to schlep to Marylebone Station and take the scenic (?) route which takes longer than usual. He woke me up at an early hour this morning to tell me his name wasn’t on the ticket, which I had booked and printed, therefore he couldn’t use them. I went back to sleep (ha-ha, fine chance). 7.00am I rang ticket enquiries and a nice man with a Cotswold burr ( that’s an accent ) said it would be fine – no problem. It then took about an hour of decision making before Mr P has finally left the building….. rather reluctantly as it is raining slightly. What a palaver – I’m off to Yoga in an attempt to regain sanity.
