7 Days in June or Peace at a Price

At the start of the week Mr P. was running round like a headless chicken – I hope I never see one for real – over rubbish brought into the front garden by foxes. He blamed this on the pond (source of drinking water). I blamed it on the rather overgrown look of the garden, very nice but just a bit overgrown where foxes could have their alfresco picnics in peace and quiet. Being a little more cross than usual as my fractured arm was quite painful I decided that after about 10 years of Mr P going on and on about responsibility of feeding fish etc, I would take action. With my trusty Apple to help I found a really nice man who creates ponds etc and explained I needed the reverse. He came on Tuesday with all the proper gear – pumped the water out, caught the fish and found them a new home in Potters Bar so they could stay together as a shoal. Then we had a few days of aggro while I found more help in the form of Ervin of ‘Garden of Eden’ gardening services – fab name – as he said ‘we’ve been around a long time’. Sense of humour too.

So now calm restored – I’ll get a bird bath for the robin, blackbirds etc next. I am not holding my breath over the rubbish – I fully expect it to be there again!
